Renewing the promise of public education

Providing high-quality public education doesn’t have to be a struggle.

We at Partners in School Innovation envision a thriving system of public schools that have an unwavering focus on results and are vibrant places to teach, learn, and grow.

By empowering and equipping educators to become equity-focused change agents, we transform teaching and learning in the most challenged U.S. public schools so that every student thrives.

    SCHOOL LEADERS

who are driven to accelerate student learning as teachers, instructional coaches, assistant principals, and principals work with Partners in School Innovation.

We support school leaders with continuous-improvement practices that help them identify when and why inequitable results occur, develop crucial problem-solving skills, and implement processes that result in greater educator efficacy.

    DISTRICT LEADERS

who strive to achieve more equitable student outcomes throughout their districts collaborate and engage with Partners in School Innovation for transformative outcomes.

We partner with district leaders such as superintendents to unpack root causes of equity challenges, design and implement plans that turn low-performing schools into lively, loving learning communities, and grow leadership effectiveness and pipeline.

    CHANGE AGENTS

who advocate and rally for student success support the Partners in School Innovation mission both inside and outside of schools as active members of their communities.

With the support of resources from foundations, donors, educational consultants, and other non-profits, we work with schools and districts to address the systemic and societal challenges they face in equitably educating children of color.

Lively, loving learning communities

  • Photo of Black elementary school students hunched over a desk, looking together at an assignment and collaborating on how to do the work. They are in a brightly decorated classroom.

    Thriving students

We support school and district leaders to develop habits and routines of regularly soliciting, empowering, and acting upon student voices.

Working toward equitable student outcomes in partnership with school and district leaders results in decreased rates of chronic absenteeism, decreased course failures, increased proficiency on grade-level standards, increased GPA, and higher student satisfaction on surveys on belonging, well-being, and perceived agency.

    Tenacious educators

We engage stakeholders collaboratively in cycles of inquiry around actionable plans and identify specific change ideas to implement and study.

Drawing out the best thinking of the leaders we coach, we are able to help people grow. This has led to improved educator satisfaction, retention, capacity, and efficacy. With our guidance, school leaders and teachers ground their practices in student feedback, formative assessment, student work analysis, disaggregated data, and classroom observation.

    Transformed systems

We honor the challenging pace of change and work towards more sustainable changes through our long-term school and district partnerships.

Driving equity-focused continuous improvement in the classroom, school, and district embeds equity work more deeply into educational systems. We have helped develop adult learning capacity, more effective leaders, and integrated change agents motivated to sustain the work. Teams overall become more strongly aligned to take action on interrupting systemic inequity.
