Partners in School Innovation (PartnersSI) is seeking outstanding
candidates who are passionate about transforming chronically low-performing
public elementary schools into thriving learning environments.
School Innovation Partners (SIPs) engage in site-based, school
improvement work at urban elementary schools. SIPs plan, execute
and manage the implementation of our Results-Oriented Cycle of
Inquiry (ROCI) school improvement process at each school w/the
primary goal of establishing a high-performing, professional learning
community focused on continually improving teacher practice to
dramatically increase student achievement. SIPs also participate
in weekly internal professional development, where they receive
content knowledge and implementation strategies and skills that
can be directly applied back to their work in the schools.
Responsibilities

Support teachers to improve their practice
through data analysis, observation, feedback and other elements
of ROCI
-
Facilitate teacher professional development
by leading grade-level collaboration and evidence-based discussions,
encouraging use of key resources and tools and managing other
improvement activities

Collect and analyze student data to identify
learning needs and research instructional strategies

Advocate for data- and equity-driven attitudes
and behaviors in the school
- Coach and build the capacity of mid-level leaders (e.g., literacy
coaches, grade-level team leaders) to support ROCI implementation
- Thought-partner with the Principal to strategize and advocate
for the most effective allocation and use of site and district
resources
- Work w/ the Principal to establish a sustainable and distributed
leadership system
- (For those with management experience) Lead and manage
the development of 1-2 SIPs, ensuring that the they are performing
at their best, are satisfied in the role and are getting student
achievement results at their schools
- Participate in internal professional
development sessions
- Bachelor's Degree
- Passion for and commitment to closing the achievement gap
and achieving educational equity
- Proven experience as a high-performing teacher (minimum
two years in the classroom) and/or Principal in an urban school
setting
- Racial and cultural competence - an understanding of the role
of racism in the inequities of the public school system
- Demonstrated leadership experience and achievement in an education
setting
- Strong skills in planning and managing complex projects to
achieve results
- Demonstrated experience coaching, observing and/or giving
evidence-based feedback
- Knowledge of major pedagogical approaches
- Aptitude for collecting, analyzing and using data to inform
instructional decision making
- High degree of initiative, independence and tenacity, particularly
in complex situations
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in communities of color and/or low-income
communities

Knowledge of school reform and/or research-based
literacy programs

Advanced degree in education or a literacy
specialist credential in reading development

Fluency or proficiency in one or more non-English
languages spoken in Bay Area schools (e.g., Spanish, Cantonese,
Vietnamese)
Compensation
Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and are competitive
with Bay Area compensation scales.
