Director of Finance & Operations
The mission of Partners in School Innovation (PartnersSI) is to enable public schools in low-income Bay Area communities - serving students of color and English language learners - to achieve educational equity through school-based reform. Our goal is to achieve educational excellence for all students while closing the gap in reading achievement between children living in poverty and their more affluent peers. PartnersSI turns around some of the lowest-performing schools in the Bay Area by leading them through a rigorous multiyear change process that improves teaching and learning and achieves long-term systemic change.

We are seeking a full-time Director of Finance & Operations (DFO) to join our senior management team as we set out to pursue an ambitious organizational growth plan. This person will be charged with ensuring that the systems which support PartnersSI's operations - financial management, human resources, information technology, legal and office administration - are effective and scalable. The DFO is also responsible for supervising two staff members, the Staff Recruitment & Development Manager and the Office Manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The DFO will be expected to:

1. Provide leadership and strategic oversight for all financial operations, including, on an ongoing basis, managing the budgeting process, overseeing the annual audit, preparing financial reports, analyzing cash flow, invoicing school and district clients, managing the accounting and supervising daily management of and compliance w/financial systems and procedures. More importantly, the Director will be responsible for building the financial models to support future growth plans and ensuring that all of our financial operations systems can support such growth.

2. Develop and implement a human resources strategy for the organization: In preparation for the organization's growth, the Director will need to work across departments to create a multi-year staffing plan that addresses both the near- and longer-term vision. This will include supervising the Staff Recruitment & Development Manager to recruit, hire and retain high-quality staff and ensuring that on-boarding and performance management systems are effective, integrated with program operations and valued by staff. In addition, the Director will be responsible for overseeing payroll, benefits administration and HR policies and compliance.

3. Serve as a member of the senior management team, taking part in organizational strategy development and decision-making. As the finance and support operations "expert", the Director will be expected to provide important input from her/his perspective as to the feasibility of program decisions. S/he will also work closely w/the Executive Director in making such cases to the Board of Directors.

4. Manage relationships w/consultants and vendors for banking, accounting, benefits, insurance, legal services, etc., including negotiating contracts and renewals.

5. Oversee information technology resources, including making the necessary investments to support the organization's needs and maintaining/upgrading the existing IT infrastructure.
