What we want to be
PartnersSI is a school improvement organization recognized in the field for excellence in developing powerful social justice leaders who get results and for providing a workplace where staff thrive. We are the organization of choice for the very best talent and the source of exceptional leaders prepared to lead dramatic improvement in student learning and school performance for PartnersSI and beyond.

Who we want to be
PartnersSI staff are a group of talented and diverse individuals with an unwavering commitment to achieving educational equity. We believe that educational equity is the pathway toward achieving greater social justice, fulfilling our democratic ideals, and dismantling wider systems of inequality. We are characterized by our results-oriented leadership, initiative and ingenuity, and desire to continuously learn and improve.

CORE BELIEFS

  • Diversity: We believe a diverse set of perspectives, backgrounds and approaches enriches our work and collective efficacy.

  • Results-Orientation: We believe a results-oriented, initiative-taking, continuous-learning attitude is as important as experience and expertise in developing gap-closing leaders and change agents.

  • Inquiry: We believe in inquiry-based learning, both for our schools and our organization. We continuously ask questions, collect, analyze and reflect upon evidence, and incorporate new insights by adjusting our approach and/or goals.

  • Experiential Learning: We believe the most powerful developmental learning occurs through on-the-ground experience leading schools and districts to dramatically improve performance. We believe in building strong partnerships with each individual school, through which knowledge about what works in school improvement gets exchanged, honed, shared and replicated.

  • Leaders Breed Leaders: We believe that strong coaching and guidance from knowledgeable, highly effective individuals who model results-producing leadership develop knowledgeable, highly effective individuals capable of results-producing leadership.

  • Professional Development: We believe ongoing, relevant and timely professional development that combines theory and practice and draws from external and internal sources of expertise is an essential component in the development of extraordinary results-oriented leaders.

  • Explicit Criteria/Feedback: We believe the criteria for a high-performing staff member must be explicit and performance feedback must be ongoing in order to develop high-performing staff members.

  • Culture: We believe that a collaborative and challenging workplace that provides opportunities for growth and development, initiative and ingenuity, mentorship and improvement enable staff to thrive.

  • Work/Life Balance: We believe in hard work and the relentless pursuit of our mission AND we believe in finding a balance with other responsibilities and areas of fulfillment including home, family, spiritual and extracurricular interests.
