Partners team presents at ACSA and Learning Forward 2023 as thought leader

Our team members often share their expertise with the field via conference presentations. For example, in Nov. 2023, one of our senior improvement partners co-presented at the leadership summit of the Association of California School Administrators. Paula Espinoza teamed up with the educators she’s working with at Christopher Elementary School in San Jose to describe how they have designed and implemented a professional development series to make the school a more welcoming, affirming community and how the series is being spread throughout the district. (Paula is second from left in picture below.)

In addition, two Partners staff members gave a presentation titled “Drop Everything and Listen (DEAL) with Empathy” at the national Learning Forward conference in Washington, D.C. The presenters explained how empathizing with students and giving them a voice in their schooling experience can produce steady positive shifts in school culture, help adults refine their practices, and contribute to more effective implementation of a school’s instructional program.
