Our Approach

Our Results-Oriented Cycle of Inquiry

ROCI

The Results-Oriented Cycle of Inquiry (ROCI) is a powerful way of building schools' capability for continuous organizational learning and improvement. By focusing everyone's attention directly on student-learning; leaders and teachers are able to learn from their successes and to diagnose and problem-solve challenges. As they implement their provisional solutions and monitor how they are working, they move closer and closer to their goals. In this way, the process of ROCI engages teachers and other leaders at every level as true learning leaders and, simultaneously, as leaders of sustained organizational learning and improvement.

ROCI is not a lock-step process for any one particular area of work. A mindset and habit of continuous organizational learning and improvement towards desired results is the essential element of the PartnersSI practice. We seek to operate with this continuous improvement mindset in all that we do. We use ROCI as a framework to assure that we work in a strategic and outcome-driven manner. This includes constantly observing our progress and adjusting our actions to be sure we're continuously improving and growing in the work that we do.
