Approach

In 2008, Partners began the process of creating a framework and rubric that would help us to synthesize and more clearly communicate our knowledge of best practices for transforming schools. We based our framework on a careful analysis of our most successful schools, making sure to ground and frame our experiential knowledge in the most up to date research on effective teaching and leadership practices. The resulting products of this work are our School Transformation Framework and Rubric, tools that specify research-based best practices in instruction, teacher professional learning, and leadership.  The Framework and Rubric provide a roadmap for the work that school leaders and teachers undertake to continuously improve their instructional programs.

Core Instructional Program

We help them to define what students need to learn, identify best practices for delivering instruction, and put in place a comprehensive system for using assessments to identify learning needs and monitor progress.

  • I truly believe that Partners has transformed the way we work at Chavez, especially in our Instructional Leadership Team (ILT). As a team, we have built more authentic relationships through not only getting to know one another as better educators but also as people. We have spent more time this year discussing our beliefs and how they impact our action in the classroom and at our school.

Although we still have more work to do in the area of equity, Partners has equipped us with tools to engage in courageous and risky conversations. As a result of developing more authentic relationships, more teachers are collaborating organically.
