A California native, Aletheia Higgins is thrilled to be on the West Coast again after thirteen years living, studying and working in New York and Boston. She spent seven years as a public school elementary and middle school Special Education teacher in Brooklyn and is passionate about literacy, subject integration and social-emotional well-being for students. Her work is rooted in creating equitable opportunities for the most vulnerable, marginalized and disenfranchised student populations, particularly students of color in under-resourced communities. In her free time, she loves to dance, do yoga, cook, hike and make hilarious jokes.
