Carol started her career in education proofreading statewide assessments that were used for NCLB accountability. She has since held a number of roles in the field, including coordinating test development cycles, managing experimental design research studies, overseeing state contracts and federal grants, managing the development and publication of the Trends in Higher Education report series, and launching and growing Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles. She has also served as a content lead for music assessments, alignment studies, and standards revision projects.
Carol has certifications in traditional (PMP) and agile (PMI-ACP) project management and is passionate about implementing informed management practices grounded in best practices that drive team efficiency and promote greater organizational capacity. She has a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.M. in piano performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Outside of work, she enjoys running, baking, and playing the cello.
