Reena joins Partners with over 15 years of experience in education serving as a teacher, instructional coach, and principal in east San Jose, CA. She is committed to being a change agent to ensure all students thrive socially and emotionally while achieving academic success regardless of their backgrounds.
Reena has previously worked at a Partners-supported school, Cesar Chavez Elementary. She was able to witness dramatic results in student achievement through the coordinated efforts of school leaders and teachers implementing Results Oriented Cycles of Inquiry (ROCI), engaging in crucial conversations about race and equity, and aligning adult practices and mindsets with those that are tightly aligned with student achievement goals. Additionally, Reena believes that a strong core curriculum, high expectations, relationships, culturally relevant pedagogy, and upholding an equity lens are all key components of closing the achievement gap.
Reena received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Education from UC Santa Cruz and her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from San Jose State University. In her free time you can find Reena pursing her passions of exploring nature and experimenting in culinary adventures.
